VOLUNTEERS - WE NEED YOU!

Pit Crew, Food Crew, Tow Crew, Uniform Crew for
Competitions & Football Games and Much More!

We need a lot of help with various positions for our Competitions and
Friday night football games. For planning and per school requirement we will need to have the list of Volunteers prior to each event (competition/games). Below are the many Volunteer Descriptions!

Parent Pit Crew - The Marching Band parent pit crew convoy the pit instruments and drum major stand to and from the 50-yard line for home games and for field competitions. Time is of the essence, so the ability to move quickly to set up for the performance then to collect everything and exit. Training is provided prior to the first performance. Separate pit crews are created for Marching Band and Winter Percussion.

Uniform Crew - Uniform crew helps members with uniforms fitting during the Summer Band Camp for Marching band. Distribution and collection of uniforms on game nights and at competitions. Periodic laundering and inspection is needed for repairs (sewing and minor alterations).  During marching competitions, ensure that all members are in full uniform, with hair done, and ready visually to take the field. Postseason uniform maintenance and laundering. Uniforms for Winter Percussion are more relaxed and with minimal monitoring since the uniforms are ordered based on the individual student. 

Tow Crew - Tow crew members have vehicles able to tow the band’s trailers to competitions and other events. They facilitate the transport of band equipment, kitchen/food supplies, golf cart, etc. 

Food Crew - The Food crew plans, purchases, gathers donations for meals and snacks for designated student events. They prepare and serve food to the students based on an approved budget. 

Fundraising Coordination - There are a variety of fundraisers, and each is led by a volunteer. If you lead a fundraiser, you will have support from other parents and the Board. Some fundraisers are small and only need a lead. The larger ones, such as the car show and crab feed, will have a lead and a small army of support. 

Event Coordination - This position is the point person for ensuring details are arranged for band concerts, picnics, award ceremonies, etc. This role recommends locations, helps with the agenda, set-up needs, and facilitates a smooth event. The lead will have plenty of volunteers the day of the event to help out. 

Props Crew - This team helps build and/or repair props used in shows. 

Grant Writing - This role investigates grant opportunities and drafts applications for submission. 

Board Position Shadowing - Interested in running for a board position in the future? Let us know you’d like to shadow the current board member so you can learn more about the role.
